About Me

I have come to the path of helping others heal through my own journey in exploring my mental health and wellbeing. I have tried many ‘techniques’, and it is my hope that I may support others’ journey by highlighting the ‘direct path’ to healing. What I have discovered is that true and lasting peace comes not from someone else’s ideas of success, but from our own. This can be challenging in a society where everyone has their own opinions and rules for living. Finding a space outside this way of existence to explore who we truly are as individuals with no judgements can have a profound impact on our health and wellbeing.

Though my background is in law and business, my journey took me to train in psychotherapy in my mid 20s. I was drawn to the transpersonal approach given my interest in Buddhism and spirituality. I had had enough of the ‘mind’ stuff! The five-year integrative training I completed at the CCPE (London) included all aspects of psychotherapy (psychodynamic, humanistic, existential, gestalt) but it was the transpersonal aspect that drew me the most. This included exploration of dreams, an understanding of the principles of alchemy and myths as well as working with the body.

It was through working somatically in this way that I came to understand how much of who we are goes beyond words. In my work as a reiki practitioner, clients often report seeing images or feeling sensations that have no ‘meaning’ to them, yet they are still just as real as the activity of the mind. When we honour and welcome all of who we are, we may begin to truly know ourselves. It is this awareness that I offer as a psychotherapist and reiki practitioner.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and practice in accordance with their ethical framework.
